New terrain!

From the BI email about E3 that just hit my inbox:
one of the things you can look forward to will be the much-anticipated exclusive world premiere of Arma 3's new terrain, which will debut as part of a major expansion coming in 2016
Squeeeee!

*ahem*

Anyway, as I was about to ask before accidentally acoustically impersonating an overexcited little girl at a beatles concert in the 1960s (ask your parents), what's the party's usual take on expansions for Arma? I assume that the party came up with an approach during the Arma 2 days?

Even now, a conference of high-level Party officials are debating this very issue. Stay tuned, comrade.

Can't wait to see who's going to be fighting over control of the islands. I wonder when they'll announce more of the content?

Dude. There's a Volcano. Was this not the first thing you thought of?

I wonder how they'll introduce it, though? As in, will everyone be allowed to play on servers with the map (but not use the map in editor) unless they purchase the expansion? Etc.

It wont be a DLC, but an expansion. Like a real one.
There's even a chance they'll do arma 2 shenanigans with expansion being standalone.

Hm. Bother. That may not mesh well with a low friction setup :(

If the Politburo decides to adopt the new terrain, there will be adequate warning beforehand; don't worry, comrades.

I worry not about DLC and the purchase thereof; when you don't drink or smoke you can sometimes afford a few euro for toys, so long as nobody does anything silly like announce a raspberry pi-controlled telescope in the same month (I'm trying to look like I'm not a selfish sod and taking note that not everyone is in the same boat but VOLCANO I just VOLCANO really can't VOLCANO bring myself VOLCANO to VOLCANO care that much).
I was more worried that the politburo would decide not to use the new terrain in order to preserve the (worthy) goal of low friction.

...and I *really* would like to assault a volcano comrades...
