I've been wondering how to tweak this mission. I liked the initial approach but the end always felt a bit anti-climatic.

An alternative (and also more thematic) would be to drop the whole "rv with FIA" bit and replace it with a "stop reinforcements" bit after destroying the target in the town. The target could also be changed to a AA vehicle of sorts (or add the AA vehicle as an extra objective), enabling air support for the players after it has been destroyed.
