[Sun] 15 Nov 2015 (Kill or Bee killed)

How we died (in the future, but also the past, if that makes sense? OMG! Confusing!)

[Sun] 15 Nov 2015 (Kill or Bee killed)

Post by Netkev » Sun Nov 15, 2015 11:16 pm

After somehow attracting the attention of 46 murderers heroic gunmen, we proceeded to head on out and test their capabilities in a variety of different situations, only sometimes ending up as little more than dust in the wind!

Playlist: Alpha's sudden and mysterious vapourization in Lightning Strike was imitated with flying (hehehehe) colours by all the infantry in Bees, good times.

And nothing went wrong in the afterparty missions. At least, nothing that couldn't be fixed.

As always, comments are most welcome below, especially with regards to new missions for ideas to improve existing missions and make shiny new ones. Also, if you have a nice story be sure to tell it. Videos are always much appreciated, and will be appropriated by our propaganda departement if you tell us about them.

If you think commanding seems like fun, yet hesitate because you worry that you won't come up with a reasonable plan on such short notice, then check out our leadership programme.

If you want to test out an updater/launcher for all your mod needs look no further than our Comrade head's marvellous contraption.

Did you notice that some vehicles/players had way cool FA Tractors on them tonight? That's because of the power of our squad tags. Get yours whilst stocks last.

Tatty bye!

Thanks for the fun evening everyone. The PTSD from Lightning strike was real - I was in that exact location last time we ran this, and knew how indefensible it would be, but I held fast until the HMG ifrit we were desperately trying to find AT for ran me down.

Also, I may or may not have fallen out of a helicopter in Bees, after giving a safety briefing about how important seatbelts were.

Videos to come.

Haven't been around in a while, so it was nice to see familiar names all around. Also, spiking the water supply has done wonders for our numbers, apparently!

Generally Negotiable
B2 Rifleman

Being old and rusty i figured i'd watch the carnage from as far back as possible, so B2 Rifleman seemed nice. Also i was kinda curious as to what Suicideking had been up to since last time, and he was in charge of the team, so that sealed it.
We got the fun job of assaulting the town, which was great, as playing ploink ploink from the hillsides isnt really my kind of fun. (Though alpha seemed to get into a lot of stuff, and charlie got mortared, so i guess some fun was had. (Sidenote : being mortared sucks, as ambience its okay, but the asymmetry of the engagement and its "instakill-from-nowhere" vibe is not my idea of a fun time in a video game. But hey, some people might enjoy it...)

Anyway. Ferrard led us through the town and much fun was had clearing houses and pewpewpewing. There was gunfire and explosions, so that was nice, and sk did an overalt good job of keeping us in motion and active Then the fireteam got a bit too spread out without any clear directions for the coloured teams, so it devolved into a "run-around-and-see-whats-going-on-a-thon.

Then the meeting took place, and a retreat was called. Which was reasonably chaotic. Worked out in the end, and when we're on the retreat mortars are more fun, as it really gets the panic going.

Nice mission, well executed! :jihad:

Bees
Shadowplay decided to have a crash here. Got no footage of it besides the briefing. I was in AH-1 and it wasn't all that spectacular. I took out a couple of boats and did a few attack runs. Then I took an AA-Missile above the water. That means I was a good distance from the target - even had a mountain between me and most of it - and miles from the no fly zone. Before hitting the ground I then took a second missile - one clearly isn't enough. I attempt to auto-rotate on the nearest piece of land - which I did reach. Unfortunately it was a 40° sloap. The result predictable.

Manhunt
No footage here either. This time I got to play as Opfor. After some initial walking about I found a rather suspicious house. I did peek around a corner and shot a guy in the window. Then decided to check if anyone else was in there. Then there was a bit of shooting. Afterwards there were 2 more dead ei in the building and both officers were down inside the building. Well and I had a smile on my face. That was the end of that mission.

Helicopters
Does it need any introduction? Needless to say I had my fun executing people with FFARs. Didn't even mess up the recording here.

Hint: Executions start at 3:40

Sadly I could only attend the first mission.

"Generally Negotiable" mission start. Lots of people :)

Generally Negotiable [Co-op]
Bravo 2 RAT

- in which Bravo Squad performs some fine bounding and house clearing without much resistance, and I am deprived of opportunities to shine as AT soldier.

Bees [Heliborne Co-op]
Alpha 1 Rifleman

- in which Alpha Squad employs glorius stormtrooper tactics, only to be ruthlessly cut down by the entrenched enemy.

Are you kidding me? They're annoyed because I *didn't* swear?
What are they thinking, that I don't know how to spell expletives? Sheesh...

@intel, nice piloting. Mind if I create a merged video of my footage and your footage for PR? (there was more than one time when we nearly ran into each other)

If you could link me to some sort of source video, that would be nice. If not, what you have works, I can download it myself.

---

Also sparks, to be fair... arma reddit tends to get pissed off if you try and pass anything remotely lacking off as "l33t", even jokingly. You really have to be careful with those folks.

---

Also @philFlame, shame on you for editing out the best part of bees, the ride over (in which I do very silly things, see above) :P
