This is a BI mission that ships with BAF, but for some reason it's broken in such a way that the group leader slot cannot be played. So after spawning the AI leader just stands there, motionless. Which wouldn't be a bad thing, except that he has a Javelin.
Oh, and he's the only one who can call in CAS and artillery.
Meh. We're farmers (under these British fatigues); what do
we want with support options? How hard can this be?
So Housemaster splits us into two groups: DM and myself (with the NLAWs and extra rockets) stay on the upper ridge, whilst everyone else inches forward to the next set of rocks. After picking out targets, pretty soon we're ready to fire and Housemaster tell us to open up. The Shilkas explode, but the stationary T-72 takes two NLAWs before it'll die. Still, DM's already picked up his extra rocket and reloaded when the BMP rolls into view, which he cooly destroys. However, things have gone a bit too quiet on the comms front, and pretty soon it's clear that only DM and myself have survived the initial exchange. And there's a T-72 crawling up the hill and about to run DM over.
This is where I got lucky: running around to the left I saw the T-72 crest, exposing its underside in the process. So I put an NLAW into it, and in moments the surviving crew members had bailed. After killing at least two of them with rifle fire, we withdrew (bravely) to the spawn point. I shot the AI leader and DM grabbed his Javelin. Then we set off to do some more killing, but were killed by another bit of angry armour.
