Just a thought but surely the same effects could simply be experience by playing a mission that starts in the pre-dawn phase and progresses through dawn to daylight.
In darkness we lose our colour perception and see what little we can see mostly in monochrome and our colour vision returns gradually as the sun comes up.
Vintage Night?
Re: Vintage Night?
IIRC, the ArmAx engine does a pretty neat job of gradually introducing colour at dawn. The drawback is that this process takes time, and it also has a major impact on the engagement distances of EI. In the mission I've written for Sunday, you'd be shocked at what a major difference is made by switching from dawn to midday: in the former, the EI will practically wait for you to shake their hands before shooting you.
Hopefully you'll like the filter I created for the mission, but in case you get curious there's an awesome tool for ArmA2 which allows you to experiment without ever having to write any code (although it will generate code for you when you): http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=10163
