During tonight's folk session someone who was new to folk apologised about wearing clan tags. I just wanted to remind all guests of an important passage from the
What is folk? thread:
Alright, but I'm already a member of a gaming group or clan
Great! Wear your tags, tell us about where you come from. Just please remember that in folk, we're all just folk. So whilst we'll respect your tags and ranks, they won't mean anything special here.
Most of us (nearly
all, in fact) play with other groups, and kind of the
point of Folk is that you don't have to
join it (and certainly not at the expense of any other community you might be part of). Personally, I think it's cool to see a variety of different tags in the session playerlists, as it speaks to the terrific diversity of folk guests.
