FRAPS video editing

I thought it would be a good idea to set up a thread on this as I think we should publish vids of some of our sessions for publicity purposes.
I just got a full version of Fraps and could use some advice on:
1. The optimal Fraps settings to use
2. Video editing tools

Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

I set mine to HALF the video size and 25 frames a second. This will cut down on size. BUT there going to be BIG in size until you convert. Far as sound recording that will be up to you. Some like coms in it some don't and only want game sounds. Setting a key for record is the next big issue and that's also a personaly setting. BTW, fraps 3.3.1 came out today...lol...

Video editing would be windows 7 movie maker. This converts well and does simple editing. Plus it will connect to your youtube account and automaticly upload vids...

I use Blender VSE and it works for my purposes (and also because it's free). However the interface is horrid and the learning curve is very steep. I'm looking to eventually get Sony Vegas, but it's so far out of my price range for unpaid work that I cannot justify the cost.

Thanks HS I'm new to movie editing and as always short of time so I will probably avoid anything which has a steep learning curve.

I will try to edit a vid of Housemaster's doomed rescue flight from last Sunday's session this weekend and upload it to youtube.

hey guys, whats up. I figured I would throw my self into this topic. I like to think of myself as an amatuer combat recorder.
The vids I make aren't movies with flashy effects and 100 3-second clips stiched together with some music to !POMP EWE OP! . Mostly they consist of gameplay that I would like to review or remember.
i have a full version of Fraps and a 1Tb HDD, with half dedicated to collecting Fraps files. With an empty work folder, I can record over 90 minutes of continuous gameplay, but I am not currently motivated to endure a project that large!

anyway, here is my YT channel, and if you have any specific questions, SHOOT ! :jihad:
