Arma2 non OA

Post by DMA » Fri Apr 29, 2011 8:13 am

HeppHepp!

Apparently, in Folk, we're always playing OA-only missions, right? I was wondering if there was any particular reason for this decision, and if it's cast in stone and will never ever change.

The recent 80%-off campaign on Steam for the original Arma2 has stirred up quite a bit of interest for the game, including one or two mates of mine that might be very interested in the Folk format. I'm sure there's plentys of yous that are in the same kind of situation.

However, the 80%-off campaign was not extended to include OA, which creates a problem. Is there any interest of having a few sessions of vanilla?

What thinks ye?

Actually DMA, we switched-over to using Combined Operations a while a ago. Or am I mis-interpreting your question?

Hm, I see. I seem to remember reading somewhere about only producing Folk-missions for OA. Crazy times these.

But how does it work anyway, can someone playing 1.09 join a CO server as long as no OA-assets are being used?

Standalone, non-standalone, DLC, expansions, beta patches and whatnot. I'm getting to old for this.

That was the case when Folk began, but it changed towards the end of last year.

I'm not sure, but I suspect they will find they cannot join because AFAIK a CO server is the OA server with A2 content added to it.

I know how you feel, which is why Folk is vanilla (i.e. no addons to manage).
