Republic of Folk

Not exactly hot off the presses, but later this month Bohemia Interactive is going to release some DLC in the form of a British Forces pack. Currently, folk's remit is such that we only use vanilla OA - but DLC sits in a grey area between vanilla (because it's produced by BI) and addons (because ... it's an addon, just not a free one). The question for us is this: should folk support this DLC? By support, I mean that we would enable it on the server, allowing missions which use it to be played. Whilst I'm sure I'll be getting this myself, I'm mindful that by supporting it we would be asking guests to spend more money. So what do you think?

As Fer's vision is about us mainly playing irregular forces I don't see the point.

Plus it's just another pain for setting up the server and another way to alienate players who haven't bought it. I voted no.

Didn't vote, because neither option suits. I'm almost sure, that I'll buy it, just for the sake of it and I won't cry, if it won't be used anywhere. So my position is neutral.

I agree with this.

Perhaps in the future, if BIS puts a few DLC packs out, and they would add some genuinely new experiences it might be worth looking at.

I will be buying it when I get the money, but that's not going to be for a long while really. As such, I've voted 'no' for the time being.

Looks like this is something folks aren't ready to adopt just yet, so I won't have it loaded onto the server. I also think Tigershark's point about raising the barrier-to-entry is very compelling. Thanks for all the contributions to the discussion.
