LDDK have asked us to come over and help them (and CiA) shoot the enemies of our glorious revolution. Or their revolution. I forget. Look:
- There's a revolution going on
- It'll be glorious
- You get to shoot people
The illustrious LDD Kyllikki (LDDK) is an OFP/ArmAx group that has been around for a very long time indeed. Over 10 years, in fact! The folks at CiA have been running sessions for almost as long.
What are the people from LDDK and CiA like?
Lovely. We've had many joint sessions with them in the past, and greatly enjoyed shooting each other in the face. Here are some AAR threads from the more recent joint sessions:
- [Sun] 08 January 2012 (with LDDK and CiA)
- [Sun] 04 December 2011 (with LDDK and CiA)
- [Sun] 27 November 2011 (with CiA)
- [Sun] 30 October 2011 (with CiA)
- [Sun] 25 September 2011 (Joint Joint: LDDK)
20:00 CET on Sunday 29 January, 2012 (that's 19:00 UK).
Does this replace the regular Folk session?
Yes. Everyone from Folk and ARPS is invited. Please note the earlier start time.
Which OA server will we use?
The LDDK ArmA2: Combined Operations server. Here are the details:
Address: http://www.raunhofer.net
Port: 2302
Password: kyllinyrkki
Are any addons allowed, or just vanilla ArmA 2: Combined Operations?
Only vanilla ArmA 2: Combined Operations is required. You may only run client-side addons (STHUD etc.) - please do NOT connect with ACE2 or ACRE.
What kind of missions will we be playing?
A mega-coop, one with a name: Operation Kutuzov
Which TeamSpeak 3 server will we use?
The Folk one.
Okay, sounds good. What do you need me to do?
If you don't already know how to configure and use TeamSpeak 3's Channel Commander feature, please re-/read the Getting started with TeamSpeak 3 (for ArmA2) thread before the event, even if you do not plan on taking a leadership role.
Anything else?
Just come along and enjoy the evening, comrade! If you know you're coming along, posting in this thread would be great - it's not obligatory, but it will help us plan things and is greatly appreciated by the hosts.
What if I can't make it until the usual Folk session start time, at 20:30 CET?
If all goes to plan there will be a lot of players on the server, so please understand if we don't wait for guests that arrive late in the slotting phase. If you arrive late, you may not get to participate.
Are we expected to survive?
Why do people always ask this question?
