Comrade Guest!

Tonight marks 2 years of the Folk sessions.

Since 08 August 2010, 100+ Folk sessions have been run, 100+ missions written and 200 guests have registered on the forum. Today, thanks to our great partnership with ARPS, we regularly enjoy playercounts of 40+. Over the years we've also run many successful joint sessions with established communities including LDD Kyllikki, CiA, Zeus and Tier 1.

There are many ways to enjoy ArmA, all of them equally valid. We may not have achieved our socialist agrarian utopia yet, but I think we have proved that high quality tactical experiences can be enjoyed without mods, training, ranks or unnecessary milsim.

All the Folk sessions have ever needed has been the vanilla game, TeamSpeak, a smattering of organisation and a super cast of guests who don't mind dying. A lot. If you're reading this message as an email, you're part of that story; if not, I hope you'll consider being part of the next chapter.

On behalf of all hosts past and present, and the Party, I'd like to thank all comrades who have made the Folk sessions possible. We are grateful to all of you.

In September, when the holiday season is over, we'll have a more official celebratory session (or two), inviting our friends from other communities. Tonight, we're going to ambush some convoys and explode some IEDs. I hope you can join us.

Hasta la victoria siempre!

- Fer :v:

PS Just in case you ever wonder who makes the Folk sessions possible, it's largely through the efforts of the Folk/ARPS hosts: comrades Bodge, G, Harakka, Headspace, Xiathorn, Nullkigan, SvDvorak, Tigershark, Washington, and Wolfenswan. Special mention also to anyone who's ever made a mission for the sessions as well.

Thank you! It has probably been 2 years since I last played with the folk. Hoping to change that as I sit at a terminal waiting for my delayed flight back home, jonesing for some vidya gamzzzzz!

fer, it pains me incredibly to say this, but you're possibly, maybe, sort of, actually not that bad.

For a lying, treacherous bastard.

Maybe.

folk's pretty cool, though, so thanks. :D

The german cell is happy to report that we now are only 2 years behind the 3 years plan. In due time the first combat tractor from revolutionaries for revolutionaries will be finished!

It pains you because your ribs are still healing, but I am greatly hearterned to see that your recent period of detention and daily beatings have helped speed your political rehabilitation, comrade Ansob.

Heh, I remember when I first joined folk, we were like... 10 people, playing on someone's pc because the server could not be accessed for ... some reason. And we started out with pistols, killed a few gaurds driving an apc over a hill, took their guns, adn then got murdered by a sentry gunner trying to take the next town.

Now, we are with 40 or more people, the server hardware has been upgraded twice, and we can actually beat impossible odds.

We have come a long way in the one and a half year I was here, and it has been great fun (although I do miss the charm of having just 10 people).
