The session started out nicely, with us taking the small island in Malden and successfully accomplishing the block and sweep operation in Takistan, but then some radio cosplay troubles got us on the back foot in our second outing on Malden. With the issues fixed we went over the top again and again until we: a
) Won gloriously or b) Died glorious
lier
Also, I want to give a big shoutout to our friends from Charlie Foxtrot and Team One Tactical for coming along, kicking doors and taking names with us tonight.
Today's playlist was:
- Beach Vacation I
- Metla I
- Old Technology
- Hasty
- Beach Vacation II
Afterparty:
- Cholo
Please leave your screenshots, videos and AAR's in this thread. Also please comment on the missions we played, so that they can be improved for further carnage

Keeping silent about things that were going to happen in my missions while paying veeeery close attention for bugs and problems was fairly difficult. I ended up updating BV2 right after we played it.

I didn't have any problems with both versions of Beach Vacation. But the second one was quite dark, normally against players this wouldn't be a problem, but these are AI. I would suggest considering flares for the team leaders or make skies as clear as possible (I don't know if you've done it or not).
Fellow comrades, how were you dealing with the dark?
Intel, I really liked your mission and I think that you shouldn't remove the number of armored vehicles, only downgrade them to the T-72 variant without ERA panels or to something else.
Or you could add another MAT team. I really like this mission, with the sneaky DShKA's, bunkers and the armored vehicles. It's just that the M136 felt like a peashooter against those things
Have you experimented with other missile types for the M136?

*distinctly recalls the Javelin Launchers we found and ignored in the back of the Bradley on that one*

Hindsight is a very powerful thing, but in RoF we strive to stick to the roles we slotted. The medic should stay a medic and the automatic rifleman should stay as an automatic rifleman. We generally try to avoid cases when a guy is sporting a PKM, RPG-7 and an explosives backpack.
Having said that, it's ok to grab an RPG-7 off the ground, when there are no AT assets available and that BMP is getting awfully close.
In a nutshell what I am trying to say is that we don't need to play our missions like it's a 24/7 Domination game where everyone is out for himself to get the most kills. We can do that at any time on one of the hundreds of servers out there. People come here to play Arma as it was intended, with teamwork.
Kills are irrelevant, teamwork and communication is what makes a great experience.
Regarding extra assets in the vehicles (this applies to other missions as well), if the commander doesn't want to use the mortar or the DShKA or whatever else is there for the extra ooomph, then it is his call. Because sometimes the playercount is relatively low for that mission, so some extra help might be needed. But in other cases there are enough players for the mission, so the assets can be left behind.
Nobody likes a mission where one guy or one team (Attack choppers, arty, a tank.... whatever) rolls down on enemies with impunity. That one team might have had a great time, but for the majority of players that mission will be a waste of time, because they didn't see any action.
Rolling back to the mission we were discussing, extra portable AT assets are nice, but we also had a Bradley. I don't know when it died or how it died or how difficult it was to control it, because let's face it, RHS vehicles are funkier than vanilla ones. But that IFV is a force to be reckoned with, it's no M113, that's for sure.

Speak for yourself. Going full Rambo is the way to medic.

Only if Rambo wouldn't go all lone wolf and kill everything that has a pulse.
