Missions:
  • Heritage site
  • Encuentro
  • Weed Whackers
  • Intermediaries
  • Czech Mentality
  • Piece of cake
Hosting difficult. English language difficult. Leading difficult. Scripting difficult. IFF difficult. AAR difficult.

A solid dirty dozen, wait there was no Tigershark 12 players showed up to this session. As always Charlie Foxtrot Operations made for a good third of our force, thank you for that, it's appreciated. We can only hope one day we'll have enough people from Folk showing up to your sessions to lower your average competency levels.

We've seen three new missions, a successful take on a difficult classic and some batshit insanity.

I'd like to apologise to all of you for all broken scripts, server crash and my issues with english language that night. Most of these issues will be fixed.
On the side note though, how did you like the first mission? It was complete opposite of the unwritten "Folk mission standard", but lack of time to write a briefing was only half true - I actually wanted to check milsim-lite approach with our group. That's why I'd like to know if you liked / disliked it and what's your take on less deathmatch-ey missions with some random encounters (and Col. General Moustache)

This session had many broken or missing bits.

First up, Heritage Site where there wasn't actually a briefing, and Boberro had to invent a "Colonel Commander" guy to brief us in-game. Fairly neat. Then we got in Humvees and drove to a castle and attacked it, being attacked en-route, fighting through forest, fighting through a castle, walking up a tower, and executing a Mortar.

And then Wolf (literally) tripped over a crack and fell down the tower because the stairs had no railings. It was hilarious.

Encuentro was an Assassination action...in which we stacked up on various rooftops surrounding a sting-operation exchange point, and when someone alerted the exchangees to our presence we proceeded to liberally murderify everyone who wasn't wearing a suit (ID'ng them as friendly.) While nice, this mission lacked the element of 'fleeing for our lives' afterward that would have made it complete for me.

One of mine, Weed Whackers was intended to be a Paratrooper Assault. Things changed when Boberro's (The reigning Admin) game crashed, and the mission suddenly started without warning. From there, I discovered that Antonov-2's don't have any meaningful cargo space (meaning you can't equip Parachutes if you already have a backpack (nooooo)), part of the briefing was missing outright (damnit), and I called an emergency landing at the airfield we were passing.

From there, it was discovered that most of our budget (that we could have used for things like sandals) was spent on the Truly Superior technology known as Hover-Wheels. :science101:

While the parachute issue was fixable on the ground (and so the original method of insertion could be used), we ended up just being teleported near the objective, where after a brief walk, we were all shot at by mysteriously tacticool AI - and it was discovered that RHS guns really aren't useful against Vanilla NATO/CSAT armour according to testimonies. (It's really not a Total Modification, is it? Doesn't modify Vanilla at all.)

Intermediaries, presumably the Shapur Ambush mission, went well. Kornet Teams set up their Kornets, the enemy convoy slooooowly rolled into the kill zone, and many ATGMs were fired and much ammunition was sprayed. Maybe the Convoy should get an Abrams.

At the beginning of Czech Mentality, it was promised that I could be a Psychopath with a Grenade, charging in to cause the very first explosions. Unfortunately, I was given neither a grenade nor a reasonably fast vehicle, and could not BANZAI my way to first blood (who turned out to be some nutter on a petroleum soaked motorcycle. He crashed into a wall and was incinerated immediately, I think.)

Many things were broken this mission - But we who died all got respawned as Military...And then we Sprayed Bullets and Threw Grenades Everywhere. There was a lot of friendly fire.

Unfortunately, I had to go and missed Piece of Cake. I surmise everyone died.

Surprisingly not a lot of people died in Heritage Site, considering how many opportunities there were. I was the medic and my medical system was broken (the hold enter timer wouldn't start). Thumbs up for Saddam Husse- I mean Colonel-general. The mission layout was very different, with lots of driving and stuff and a planned ambush but it was fun.

Encuentro.
The team I was in (Boberro squad) didn't see much action. The first team did all the dying - we just camped on rooftops and then cleaned up.
