Missions:
  • Hasty
  • Herringbone
  • Finca I
  • Pridorozhnyy I
  • Arbitration
Excellent numbers from the Islanders (and the odd mainlander too) - thank you to all who came! For the benefit of the secret police which we totally don't operate on the Island, the names that need to be noted down are: AJAX, Boberro, Bormanov, Commander Teizan, Costno, egg, Kaleovil, Kefirz, Tigershark, and Zitron. More words to follow, but please post your media and allegations here.

Came to drink and kick ass.

And by the start of the session - I was already out of booze.

"Hasty" went unexpectedly well. Last time we tried - we went out in fire and gushes of blood in 2 minutes from start. But this time... Boi - we gave them hell. The defense was clean and efficient, until something knocked out our Bradley, and we had to start making a hasty retreat to second defense line. Then, we found out that the initial intel was actually a pile of smelly shiet, when opfor started pouring on us from the opposite side of the map. Many shotouts, brave FAK actions, the last one of us went down. I, personally, prefered to blow up :clint: .

"Herringbone" was a new one for me, and it was also extremely fun. The moment everything went to hell, and three factions started tearing at each other, was the moment when we took most of our casulties. Luckily, a new designated Leader, Ajax, decided not to press the attack, but to break contact, and approach from diffrent angle. Some corner securing, complex clearing, and Joker-In-The-Woods-Taking-Out we were closer to another of our objectives- Commandering a triple A. But we decided to blow it up. One attack gunship later, we have withrawn from the area. I call that succes. Fuck AAA. Who needs it anyway ?

"Finca" without the cover of BTR's HMG is something COMPLETELY diffrent. Any sort of cover is a bliss, and the need to keep eyes peeled 360 degrees all the time keeps people properly tensed through all the mission time.

"Pridorozhny" was the last mission for me. Too bad I blew up when, it seemed like" THE REAL FUN part started. But what I blew up - brought me joy, fun, and the sense of job well done. Blowing stuff up is my favourite part.

In Hasty Bradley got knocked out by enemy wire-guided missile, fired from a BMD we fired out wire-guided at. Sadly, they were half a second faster, and on the move, so after we got hit, our missile lost guidance and missed them by a hair's breadth.

I'm not sure why enemy in Herringbone noticed us, but I know it would went a little better if I taught Costno how to get a range on the rpg earlier.

Screenshot of the zone after we were done with it. Sadly we lost many good Stalkers in it, but we will raise a glass of Cossack Vodka in your honor... while stealing your artifacts. Such is the life in Yantar.

Hasty was great - Only downside was that my suggestion of a car barricade was turned down. Our slow retreat in the face of the enemy turned into an unfortunate encirclement, and we all got shot.
Herringbone, which I lead, went badly during the time I was alive (until I received intensive flak to the face). Issue with this mission: The real objective is to just shoot someone (or even thin air) and run away without being spotted, the AAA was supposed to be a tertiary objective. While basically everyone who saw us died, (there were some holdouts), the mission doesn't suit the -kill everything and capture the AA- that happened, but that way was the most fun.
Finca I, minus a BTR and only one mandatory (and one optional) objective, was a neat forest-compound-forest-compound push. For whatever reason Fer's 343 wasn't audible for me, but his 148 was. Weird.
Pridorozhny in which everyone died...except for three people, who actually managed to pull it off - and then supposedly ran like hell as a new T72 chased them down.
I lugged around RPG ammo a lot as things (and people) exploded before I was killed by a telekinetic grenade-catching tree.
