Started off the session with Viewpoint where we stopped for scenic pictures for our Serbian Instagram accounts, but we were ambushed by the savage FIA. I was in A2 and we were tasked to defend the Southern side, so we split up as best we could, there wasn't much cover so we were literary between a rock and a hard place. But.... there was a rumble in the distance, could it be... Oh yes! It was our cow, the Mi-8, that came to rescue what was now a lone survivor among piles of dead. Except he died, before the helicopter managed to land... don't worry comrade, we'll cover this failure up in no time.

Next up was a classic block and sweep action in Swept Zero, fielding two full fireteams with their own executive medics, we methodically used fire and maneuver to clear out clusters of compounds. I just love missions in Takistan and I think it shows :D

In Old Technology we switched out our rusty, but trusty AK's to M4's and set out to eradicate a military base full of local insurgents. To help us, we took a Bradley along and had some help from a reinforcement fireteam. But sadly this wasn't enough to eradicate those scum. But that's ok, lessons were learned and some day we'll manage to win this mission. However that day wasn't today and the capitalist forces retreated in shame. On a different note, did someone shoot a friendly Bradley?

We finished the session with a run of Jordache, where the Russian forces provoked a diplomatic incident between CDF and USMC forces. Honestly, this mission looked quite bleak from the first second, but somehow most of you made it, despite three tanks, some M2 HMMVV's and a contingent of infantry that seemed to multiply as you shot them. Oh and how can you forget the Abrams that vaporized some of us and stalked and frightened the rest of the platoon. In the end though, we got to the shipment of horse branded jeans, although they were stained in red by this point, but that's ok... as good communists, red was our favorite color.

Full mission runlist:

Swept Zero was amazing as usual. I was a medic and spent the entire mission following Archie around telling jokes. It was glorious.

"Hey Archie."

Old Technology - I got hit by what was probably the very first bullet fired in the entire mission. Feels bad man.

Viewpoint, one of mine, was unexpectedly good. I lead A1 as we were tasked to hold the northern point, where we did so - but eventually took losses, and then more losses, until Fer reinforced me alone - before dying in an explosion. After gratuitous smoke grenades were tossed, I managed to get on the Metis launcher and fired point blank into the BRDM that had murdered so many (one or two) of our number - instantly killing both me and it. :owned:

Swept Zero in which I got shot quite a few times and failed to die - and we in A1 ran in the wrong direction for a little while.

In Old Technology, I was the gunner for the Bradley. After receiving orders to attack from the opposite direction to our Infantry, we got severely lost in fog, eventually parking next to a T72 - which I very luckily noticed with thermals before we drove off in front of it. Two such T72s later, a BM(P/D?) murderised us with AP shells to the side as we were tunnel visioned on a BRDM. Somebody then attempted to cremate our bodies in the still-functional Bradley with an M136 rocket.

After a Reinforcement spawn I proved that the M136 (High Penetration) rockets that Boberro told me wouldn't hurt a T-72...can detonate a T-72. :iceburn:

I was again the leader of A1 in Jordache, and our experience can be summarised as "TANK TANK TANK OH GOD", eventually all-out running away (with the excuse of getting the spare Metis launcher we'd left behind). Turned out after we got to base-camp, A2 already had it and had just failed to report it - so we ran back, but were then thoroughly shot en-route, before being unnecessarily detonated and instantly killed by a passing Abrams.

In Guardians I, I got to kill Infidels, and a Heretic we had once thought a friend. The traitor. :commissar:
(That spray from his unholy looted gun was headed in my general direction, come to think of it.)

In Old Technology Intel upgraded the AT4's to a better type (HP) than in the previous version (HEAT).

About the Metis in Jordache, A2 Arma'd their launcher, so I took the spare one and Zeused it to them, that is why it wasn't in the base.

I've been told to take SuperU, get on a hill and secure north-eastern approach. I could not deploy my KPM correctly, and they shot me soon after. Oh, and I've been on north-western approach. Not that it'd change anything, as correct rock was just as deadly, but I should have listened more carefully.

Swept Zero
I've lost first minutes pondering on technical difficulties, and I've spent rest of the mission tagging along my team, whichever team I'be been in, pretending to clear the houses. I guess I've been acting too realistic for milsim.

Old Technology, as A2 lead
I've been once again told to get my team on the rocks. See the pattern?
Anyways, I made sure we had spare AT, and we got to the overlook position... being overlooked by enemy BMP and at least one AA gun. Our AT got used up on the BMP.
We should have retreated from there as soon as possible, and that was my intent from the first time that BMP fired at us, but it was too little too late - we were stuck in "one person is wounded, we need to smoke the position and fix them; oh look another person is wounded!" loop.
We've been told vehicle is going to come to our aid, but maybe I misunderstood, because soon after vehicles was dead, on the northern (other) side of the AO.
Medic crawled to our position after we were out of medkits, but we couldn't get back because of lack of smoke. Then ASL came to our rock of doom for some reason... :psyboom: :psyboom: :psyboom: :psyboom:

Old Technology, as Bravo lead
I've reincarnated as leader of a reinforcement squad. When we got into the comms range, ASL and A2 were all dead. Since I got field promoted, my new plan was like this: get to the position south from remaining members of A1, smoke their position with a gl and get them out. Then approach the base from the west and at least get some helicopters parked there. But situation on the battlefield changed when we got there - three enemy BMD's were standing right there, on the north-eastern side of the base, next to enemy artillery.
So the new plan was in motion. Everyone with tube was to go and join A1, and from there attack BMD's, then use remaining rockets on the artillery. Those without tubes were to stay back, because I didn't want to repeat the "rock of doom" incident. We'd use smoke to get them out afterwards and go for these helicopters.
Then someone decided to prove me wrong, wasting our rockets on overly armoured targets instead of targets of opportunity. And other tubers apparently followed that person.
The command, probably observing the satellite view from the safety of their seats, decided to order me to attack from the west and go for the helos instead. Thanks, mom.
In a meantime tubers attacked T-72 instead of designated targets People with tubes attacked, and successfully destroyed our own Bradley, which led to BMD's opening fire at them. Then they pulled back. Towards enemy reinforcements.
Remaining soldiers followed me west, and we were to move around towards these damn helicopters, but then command decided following their order was simply just retreating from the battlefield. Thanks, mom.

Jordache
A2, a team I led got trusted with a Metis launcher and we were told to get chernarussians from the back. With a Metis launcher, not Tigershark style.
This plan didn't live too long though - on a way to the staging area, we encountered american patrol. I can vouch for my team that we didn't fire at them, instead getting low and continuing to the RV point prone. Someone else fired at them though, and the hell broke loose.
Turns out I can't lead a team, and definitely not when it comes to bounding. Though as stated before, I shouldn't hold it against anyone if they mix up north-east and north-west. Because of that when we finally got to the overlook position in order to set up our heavy AT, chernarussian tanks already moved away. There was still one tank though, so I ordered metis to be deployed anyways, only to see it disappear underground. :siiigh:
I ordered looting securing of nearby enemy trucks, looking for any AT assets, and some admin magic later we found another Metis launcher.
There's one thing that's strange about RHS Metis launcher: it flips. Unlike the Konkurs, it requires completely flat sufrace, or it either disappers underground, or flips. Next firing position I found was flat enough for me to be sure it wont disappear, but apparently not flat enough for it not to disappear. Before we got it sorted, that T-72 killed A1 and downed ASL (I think). Then it moved away.
So I deviced a cunning (read: stupid) plan - Harakka will stay at the Metis, and I'll take Bormanov and his rpg, piss of the tank and try to get it back in Harakka's kill zone. It was super effective. Too effective, really - Bormanov's tandem rocket killed gunner and probably commander in the T-72, so it refused to hunt us. Oh, and we lost Fer somewhere in between. Well, I decided to risk it, and ordered Harakka to redeploy Metis launcher in the open, on a flat ground. Finally, the beast was slain.
Apparently killing that tank wasn't our objective (shut up, Teizan), stealing a humvee was, but Fer did it when we were chasing that stupid tank.
Victory, at last.

^Point, I only used my shot on the T-72 when it was the only target available and we were running away (more specifically because it was chasing me). I did wait for a called target otherwise.
