Well in Viewpoint, I was a LAW-guy. We climbed the hill to hide in some rocks, and then some Technicals came while we were at it. One guy next to me received a .50 to the back of the head. Once we were (semi-safe) in the rocks, many AI were shot. And then the BRDMs came.
Many of our number were murderised, but I did manage to nail a BRDM gunner. The Helicopter pilots who then arrived showed the utmost courage in landing essentially next to a BRDM, switching off the engine, and playing dead.
And then when none of us turned up (the two still alive were staying very still in front of that BRDM), they said fuckit, started the engines again, and flew home.
In Track, the Tanoan Corridor-ambush, I was the Squad leader. I wasn't exactly paying attention when one of our number wandered off into the enemy town and suddenly we were under attack.
Kalel laid a mine way too close to our position and Boberro tripped over it, and eventually everyone died.
Rangers, a USMC (I think) Castle-raid, saw me as a UAV guy, trying to spot all the enemies hidden beneath trees. I spotted a few and confirmed we weren't about to be flanked. Most of us lived, this one.
The Hostage missions, changed to be night-time, were a tracer-show, and there was much flare-gun spam. Good fun.
Unfortunately, Ascent was weirdly handled. For me, anyway. Much of both friendly and hostile forces were completely visually isolated from us, and I only saw 6 Russians and 4 Maldenians the entire mission, and as Mortar Spotter I ended up just calling a single fire mission on one of them (which missed entirely, but he was already dead by splash anyway).
Recap issues: Essentially a separate battle going on while we did our own thing against stragglers. Not nearly enough field-of-view to act as a Supporting element, climbing that hill.
