In
UNArmed, I was a rifleman with a little rocket launcher, who later evolved to be a point man with no idea where I was going. We found some Civilians - who ran away in the wrong direction.
No idea why.
Then, I observed HMG Tracer fire down a street, called it, and watched as my team walked/sprinted straight into it. Wolfenswan took a hit but survived next to cover, so I very heroically smoked the street and zigzagged to revive him - Once I was done, we were the only two of our team left.
I then decided to try and flank the HMG and got my head blown off.
During
Uncontested, the UN vs Russian convoy ambush, there was a lot of shooting and things got chaotic quickly - For a while me and Wolf were trapped in a hut with only one exit that was being suppressed heavily. I was shot a lot, and Wolf didn't survive.
Later, after the rest of the squad broke me out, enemy numbers had fallen heavily and so a slow advance and clear began.
Hasty, the Goisse Defence mission, began with orders to setup a roadblock.
It was the most disappointing roadblock I have ever seen, and I doubt it was useful at all. It started with a car stuck way out in front well outside our defense line, one (mine) next to a building, and one in between somewhere - also outside the defenses. I don't actually know how useful it was, because I and my AR were relocated elsewhere to a two-story with a view.
A BMD turned up, was shot, and there was then an uncomfortable wait where nothing happened.
And then the Russians attacked en-masse and we were slaughtered in the middle of retreating. Kalelovil survived (with incredibly lucky hundreds-of-bullets dodging skills) for a minute or two afterward.
Herringbone, the VDV's attempt to light a flashpoint, began with the (this time) stated objective of capturing AA trucks from a factory. There was walking, some tactical decisions, some setting up, and then some Americans saw us and began a hail of GMG fire - setting off the Chernarussians as well. Cue rapid - properly tactical and not in any way panicky - retreat. It was incredible that everyone survived. We then tried to regroup in a tree line away from the battle.
Cue BTR. Many of us died, MAT was eviscerated, and I was killed getting Wolf up.
And then in Spectator, I noticed that the AA trucks were all destroyed and the Mission had already failed, but nobody alive could see them. And so began a suicidal charge, broken very quickly by another BTR and a BMP.
Navarone I, the VDV Paratrooper highland clearing mission, went about the same as it usually did; Fairly well, with minimal casualties.
It is getting a bit old though.
