Fer is away for a bit

Post by fer » Fri Jun 25, 2010 12:02 am

Between 26 June and 03 July I'll be on holiday in Italy. No idea if I'll have much access to teh interwebs whilst I'm away, so I'm going to assume the worst and say that I probably won't be able to check in. Given that the folk sessions are still a little ways off from happening, I don't think this is going to be a problem at all. However, if something really urgent comes up and you need to reach me, Tigershark, Headspace and Lor have my cellphone number (for sending an SMS). I mostly expect to be on a beach in Anzio, attempting to teach my 2-year-old daughter about amphibious landings.

Incidentally, Tigershark's need to hear my voice doesn't count as an emergency, whatever he tells you. That's why I sent him the recording of me reading bedtime stories. So he would stop calling my house at night. Oh God, make him stop!

Fer..I keep calling your house but you don't answer. My next step is go through your garbage to see where you are staying. Italy is short drive from here you know. You must be missing me. I'll pop in later in the week.

And back. Not quite the holiday we had in mind - my wife ended up in hospital - but despite all the drama we had some lovely days in Roma, Anzio and Sperlonga. The food was absolutely magnificent and our 2-year-old daughter's first encounter with the sea was love at first sight. However, driving in Roma (and Italy in general) has left me with PTSD. Now, onwards with getting the folk server established ...

Good to see you back. It wouldn't be a proper holiday without some dramas :-)
