Re: Folk & MARSOC vs. LDDK TvT
Gents,
I have proposed a small non-mandatory "familiarisation" session on Friday. It would give us a chance to get to know MARSOC comms, get to know individuals, etc etc
Is anyone in Folk interested? I realise it could be difficult for the US based comrades. But European comrades who have fallen to the evil capitalistic luxury of beer consumption in shady establishments should be able to make it.
Will probably start from 8pm CET (7pm GMT, 2PM EST)
Same deal as the sessions. Folk server but MARSOC TS3.
Who wants to show the non believers that simple farming is the superior way of life?

Comrades, I shall be attending this session. Tigershark has assured me that the program of events includes:
- Champagne and canapés reception
- Greeting from the Takistani Ambassador
- Presentation on investment opportunities in Takistan
- Presentation by MARSOC radio communications industry
- Interpretive dance presentation by Tigershark (and more canapés)
- Panel discussion on ways in which Takistan can defeat the LDDK threat
- Gala dinner
Re: Folk & MARSOC vs. LDDK TvT
Update made to the OP:
EDIT #2 (by Fer): Some updates:
Also, we have been warned that there is sometimes an issue with the LDDK server randomly shutting down (or, I suspect, freezing). Apparently when this happens it recovers very quickly, so in such an event LDDK asks us NOT TO DISCONNECT.
- Folk and MARSOC will be using the MARSOC TS3 server (and MARSOC channels)
- LDDK has selected the Folk adversarial mission Cacheola (which we have played with MARSOC twice)
- There will be 2 play-throughs of the mission
- We've been asked to honour a 'gentleman's agreement' to limit each play-through to 50 minutes
This should be great fun, comrades!

I hope their server is smart enough not to do that when they are in favour

How about a group photo before the game?
Re: Folk & MARSOC vs. LDDK TvT
Love the idea! Although I suggest we do it mid-way through the session, so we get everyone including any late-comers. In terms of making it happen, what about just loading-up Cacheola and having both sides meet up at the edge of town?Spinoza wrote:How about a group photo before the game?
Re: Folk & MARSOC vs. LDDK TvT
I will try to make this practice session tonight. I will probably have to leave for a short time around 9pm CET (8 pm GMT) but will be able to come back on after about 20 mins.Tigershark wrote:Gents,

Re: Folk & MARSOC vs. LDDK TvT
Can someone post an idiot's guide to setting up TS3 for the MARSOC server because it's a programme I'm not familiar with and I just wasn't 'getting it' on the practice session last night. I can manage as a grunt (and I'm happy to do that during the LDDK match) but all that swapping channels to speak to higher command etc seemed needlessly complicated and was beyond me.

Setting up Teamspeak
Start Teamspeak and login on the server. Press on 'Settings' and go to 'Options' as seen on the picture here:

Click on 'Capture' and configure your push to talk button(I use an extra mouse button). This is a MUST!

Close this screen and got to 'Tools', click on 'Whisperlists'.

Click on 'New'
Press a hotkey at your choice (i recommend T Y U)
Now you have an empty whisperlist.

Drag the channels ASL, A1, A2, A3 that you can see in the first picture of this file into your whisperlist. Then press apply.

Do the same thing for the BSL, B1, B2 and B3 channels.

And lastly make one for the PL channel.

YOU ARE DONE!
What can you do now?
In your local channel you can press push to talk (shift). Only the members there hear you.
You can use T to talk to all in Alpha Squad
You can use Y to talk to all in Bravo Squad
You can use U to talk to Platoon lead
