I would like to see more of these sorts of missions where support weapons are available under ROE with the proviso that if you take that slot you need to be damn sure that you have the situational awareness and discipline to use the power of the weapons platform judiciously.

If you played in last Sunday's run-through of comrade Bodge's new mission, Into the sea, you'll notice that we had an Apache operating with very precise ROE: it was able to engage enemy armour in the open, and fixed positions outside towns, but left anything in towns and infantry to our dismounts and IFVs. Commanded by [the rehabilitated] comrade Ansob, it seemed to be doing a good job from where I was hiding standing.

Yeah I was in that mission and it seemed to be going well with a refreshing lack of friendly fire disasters until some counter revolutionary saboteur tripped over the servers power lead.
