First evening with folk for me!
Also had to reinstall Arma2 in the process because it wouldn't launch without the beta patch and as I noticed in the first mission, beta patch and group comms don't go well together.
Thus it was that I was very confused and just kind of went along with my squad (Alpha 3 I think...? We were the most northern fireteam.)until my Arma crashed.
Reconnecting I found out that I was the squadleader of... myself pretty much and got told to follow Alpha 1.
Which of course I didn't have any Idea where it was so I just kind of ran around looking at friendlies, contemplating if they were indeed Alpha 1 (talking to them wasn't possible because of the beta patch)
I then decided to charge the enemy and got shot, naturally.

After reinstalling Arma I participated as Blufor in Takedown 2.
I think I was in audiox' Squad as the designated driver.
As already stated, there was nothing much going on so after driving I pursued my hobby of bird watching in Arma 2.
I didn't see many birds but I do hope all of my fellow squadmates found my driving okay.
I think actually did better than I thought Arma 2's weird engine would allow me to.

Anyway, even though I could only participate a little bit I did get a little feel for what it's like playing with you guys and I do intend to come back next week.

btw:
Are soundmods okay?
One thing I always hated about vanilla Arma 2 are the sounds so I'd very much like to install one of these.
I'm just not sure if they're client-side or not.

Yeah, soundmods are okay. I recommend you use JSRS or ACE_SM.
See there to have an idea of the mods you can safely use.
