Sparks, thanks for this! Very detailed and helpful.

I could go DIY on the EdTracker, provided I get the necessary parts. DIY in India is not exactly popular, so while some electronic components are easily available, making things like metal or plastic frames isn't easy...

Well the edtracker guys will sell you all the bits you need still... http://www.edtracker.org.uk/index.php/s ... -enclosure

And since you'll have to mail order bits anyways, getting mail order components and enclousures is incredibly easy, even for specialised bits:

(And there are hundreds of others. Google is your friend. And don't forget 3D printing...)

Just in case you didn't know, the down side of the IMU based trackers is you only have head rotation, no movement. Not a big deal for infantry (although you can use it for leaning), but if you do flight sims it's a huge deal.

True, but for flying with Folk it's more than enough (there are lovely mods that let you lean your head out the door of the MH9 to see if you're all loaded up and that kind of thing, but we don't use them so 3DOF is all you ever really use -- and until you're used to headtracking, you want to turn off 6DOF and stick to 1/2DOF anyways or you'll risk puking...)
