The highlight of the session for me was when Bodge went berserk in Tidal Force. It certainly was a spectacle with him going full auto on everyone and bullets whizzing past and nearly hitting Bodge in the head. :jihad: Yet, after all the heroics, he was killed in action. Some insurgent shits were hiding in the woods and got a drop on him.

(Tip for people who spectate, turn on the 3D bullet tracker in the spectator screen and look at all the near misses that happen in firefights)

Missions played:
  • Cholo 2017
  • Liniya
  • Tidal Force

I got in late to this one so missed cholo but it was the first session in a while I had been able to make and even with low player numbers I had a lot of fun.

I liked the premise of liniya, supporting an armoured push but we didn't really engage with the main force but investigated their flank at the hill on the SE side. Turns out there were bullets in them thar hills.

After a bit of two and fro with the hostiles through the trees Kefirz ordered a withdrawal as we were struggling to see the contacts that were engaging us. We moved to the right and circled back to push their flank. Myself and Teizen found ourselves the lead units and got to the town while under fire, however the following units were less fortunate. Toppo, my MMG buddy got downed with harakka also somewhere incapped.

I took a guy down that had hit the two injured teammates and asked for some covering fire and the rest of the Squad obliged. After a little bit of Marco Polo both guys were up and we were back to full strength. A bit of town clearance followed with Teizen doing a solid job of clearing and securing some static arty pieces despite eating a bullet.

Teizen's arty proved invaluable as the resulting damaged building proved a great asset for the MG team as it provide great sight lines and cover to fight off the last few EI pushing our position.

Tidal power proved quite eventful. As boat commander I sat in a holding position to the east of the target waiting on the call from the infantry. As I had a few minutes I refamiliarised myself with the boat as it had been a while and before long the landing party was on the move.

Several statics and infantry were spotted on the pier and I was tasted with clearing them out. This was trickier than expected because firstly the grenade launcher had bugger all in the way of stabilization and secondly Arms likes to give people in static immunity to explosions.

It soon became apparent that small arms fire wasn't going to harm me in my floating death dealer so I moved to a more aggressive position to clear the area ahead of the infantry. Last time I saw them the were on the beach engaging targets, I was starting to think that they were being a bit quiet when the GLORIOUS CHARGE order came in from HQ. I ordered the driver to move closer to the beach for a landing and dumped the rest of the grenades in a glorious looking rain of fire before taking the wheel myself. I saw muzzle flashes at the beach so went full speed towards them and bailed as soon as the boat came to a stop. I then started shooting, a lot. I killed the immediate threat to my existence but couldn't see the guys shooting at me from the trees so decided to push the docks instead. I wasn't sure what weapon I actually had in my hands at that point but figured it was "reasonably stable rifle with 30 round mags" was good enough for me so keeping it on full auto I pushed towards the buildings dancing around cover and dumping mags into muzzle flashes. The main warehouse had a few occupants but the combination of poor light and a need to keep moving was making it hard to spot targets. Moving out from the building to another different light level made this harder still but I could see muzzle flashes close above the fence line to my front left and tracers coming out of the forest some distance to my 1 o'clock. I took down the close targets but couldn't see the further ones in the trees and bit the dust to join the rest of the corpses at the docks.

Best bit of armaing I have had in a long while.
