We were due to start with washington's latest, Net Inventory, but found to our surprise that its 12 slots wouldn't accommodate our numbers. So we kicked off with another new mission, Busca I, with Commander Tasun in command (and wielding a UAV). The CO's plan was a simply pincer, each fireteam using the jungle to advance parallel to the road before swinging in towards the roadhouse complex. We weren't quite as stealth as we'd wanted to be, and took casualties in the initial firefight - but Bodge's FT soon overran the hotel. There was a moment when people weren't sure about shooting the unarmed narco-politicians ... but we got over that and liquidated them. As harakka later remarked: from a distance, you can't tell if they're holding a gun or not so it doesn't matter. Unfortunately, some (me) took this lack of target-checking a bit too far and poor Boberro was shot and killed whilst providing overwatch for his FT from the hotel balcony. Oops.

Washington, who had died early in the first mission, had quickly expanded Net Inventory, which turned out to be an awesome mission of killing pigs and sling-loading pallets of cocaine. On one of the smaller Tanoan islands, we (the cowboys) assembled, looking like extras from Far Cry 5 (only without a trailing contingent of butt-hurt RPS churnalists), and immediately set off in trucks for a nearby town. Under Bodge's command, our three fireteams swept north-south until eventually the cops were killed and the cocaine secured. Sadly, both Boberro and myself were killed by sneaky cops hiding in a building, but I think the rest of our gang survived. Afterwards, Bodge led an attack on a second little garrison near some gas storage containers. Following a little conference at a tree, his force split off into two and executed a perfect BOF+flank attack which left many blue bodies on the ground and Tasun flying off into the sunset with a pallet of coke swinging under his LB.

Now to Takistan, for valley corridor shooter Swept Zero with washington in charge. Bodge's FT would move along the road, Head's FT would take the southern route through some compounds, whilst Tigershark provided top cover for all of us with his big gun sniper rifle. And you know what? It went pretty damn swimmingly, except I think Bodge killed one of his own men at one point. In the other FT, we gave head shit for having a fascistic symbol on his arm (though we admit the 1Tac logo looks neat in-game). In return, head made egg and me clear all the buildings whilst the rest of the FT looked on. Finally, the surviving members of the squad assembled for a picture on the outskirts of Chaman. We were Afgansty, and we were awesome.
So, Lightpool is cursed. head was our leader (because he has a JLR in his tag, which means he's more qualified than all of us

One of the MAT teams did managed to kill the two self-propelled artillery pieces. So that's a win (and another first for us, as that mission hasn't been won before).

Speaking of wins, there's Cholo 2017 was a positive massacre. Boberro drove the gang bangers right up to the pig factory and we all pilled out. But Ethan Hawke and Mobius head, Cannigan and Commander Tasun were waiting for us with shotguns. Half our number died out in the open, and though a few (harakka and Tigershark?) made it into the building, they were executed one by one.

And from that massacre to another. Everything was very, very quiet in Jolly Green Hell. Sure, we'd been in a helicopter crash, but after that it was just a quiet stroll through the jungle, down a path, then a track and finally to a road with a sign. washington called the chopper, which was already nearby. head set the bird down and we climbed aboard, and as it pulled away our thoughts turned to--OH MY FUCKING GOD WHERE ARE ALL THOSE BULLETS COMING FROM OH FUCK WE'RE LOSING HEIGHT FUCK FUCK THE PILOT'S HEAD IS MISSING FU--

Our session's epilogue was Guardians I, in which we proved that bolt-action rifles and battle cries can beat Soviet automatic weapons if you work together. But also that not checking carefully as you advance can cause you to leave enemy survivors to your rear. Armed enemy survivors.

Like I said, vintage session. See you, space cowboy.

PS Boberro is right - we also played Su casa es mi casa. Landing south of the villa, Tiger and Tasun set up to ambush the cops if they attempted to drive in from town (they did), whilst the rest of us stormed the guardhouse. Pretty soon we were at the main entrance, and in a flash (well, quite a lot of muzzle flashes), the villa was ours!
