Yeah don't worry mate figured that one out all on my own. Not a complete noob at all this ;).

Out of interest what was wrong? Ill test it when I'm home from work at 3!

For some reason I was assigning the units to the markers instead of the markers to the units. And you can't use setVariable on markers. Plus I had to create another array, which wasn't necessary.
