That was absolutely amazing. Would be great to go again soon.
About the missions it self:
Mission One:
Plan:
Bravo Squad fakes the attack on the eastern flank with M2s and
massive fire-power, while Alpha squad infiltrates from the
west. Once Alpha has established contact, Bravo moves in on
the eastern stashes for the kill, while Alpha pushes in from
the west.
Execution:
Alpha managed to infiltrate the western flank just fine. The
enemy didn't expect their approach. With little to none losses
they managed to inflict quite some damage and searching
several positions quickly. At the same time Brave caught the
attention of the guerillas, just as expected. With the focus
on Brave, Alpha managed to take out several unaware enemies
and move closer onto the stash positions.
Unfortunately PL got taken out early in the game as we where
trying to suppress enemy from the northern flank.
Once Alpha has secured the centre, Bravo mate its move on the
eastern stash locations. Regretfully I had to witness how two
enemy players where able to kill at least 6 soldiers of Bravo
at one of the eastern stash locations.
Apart from this incident, we controlled the pace and the
movement pretty much from the beginning of the mission,
leaving the enemy in a defensive and responsive posture, with
little possibilities to reposition and to support.
At the end of the mission we managed to kill all enemy players
while we still had more then 10 ppl alive.
Great job there from both Teams. Well done
Mission Two:
Plan: The map was divided into two zones. Alpha Squad was
tasked to cover the north-western sector while Bravo Squad
secure the south eastern sector.
Execution: First Unit in contact was Alpha FT, although they
managed to disable one M2 they got taken out by support
elements. Shortly after The enemy formulated a two pronged
attack from the north western and south eastern side,
advancing on the stashes rapidly. Due to the fog of war and
confusion I can hardly say how exactly the situation evolved.
All I can state is that Alpha held its ground fought of the
attackers from the north and the west, then chose a defensive
posture around the centre crate. Alpha lead flanked around the
south at some point to infiltrate behind the enemies approach
and disrupt their movement.
Ultimately we stalled their attack until the mission time was
over.
By the end of the mission there where 6-8 players alive on our
side and an unknown number on the other.
All in all a fantastic gaming night.

Just posting to say a HUGE thank you to MARSOC for coming
along to the joint session with LDDK. It was epic, and I know
that all comrades from Folk enjoyed playing alongside you
(even if you are reactionary BLUFOR lapdog servants of the
capitalistic machine).
I hope we'll have a chance to do this again - having just
chatted with the leader of LDDK, I know his group will be keen
to get their revenge on us all in the new year!
Hasta la victoria siempre!

Damn that was fun.
As FT3 Lead I must conclude (even though 2 of us survived
through the end) that
I was too tired to lead, but I had help from my team. So we
did ok.
Second session I was MG with Fer and the only one in that
fireteam that died.
I was MG and stayed at the same position for too long after
opening up.
Watching them afterward I think we could learn something about
FT CQB
short term tactics.
Next time lets do Coop
I seriously want to mow down AI with 50+ players
/BoSS
PS: We also had fun with Defend the base on Folk server after
the session,
but I spent more time waiting to be revived than actually
shooting at stuff

overall it was an intense mission
for me it was nearby like everytime, running around for hours,
seeing nothing or being killed by the very first contact
in the first mission I (FT3-AAR) after an hour I got killed by
a RPG directly into my back, nothing more to say
in the second one I decided to be sniper, damn bad idea, I'm
not able to see a shit at night, now I know, I tweaked a bit
on the Gamma-setting so I became able to see at least the way
I move, and I had a contact ( ) on two soldiers west of us
where I hit one, we repositioned, I followed my spotter onto a
street and we got shoot from the back
next time I'd go to the minaret for recon only
so at all 2 men seen in 2 hours, increases the average by 1
per hour, so, mission successfull
on the base defense after that I got shot several times while
being in good cover position
but this is a nice one, I like such stuff
the weapon deployment of ACE is such a good thingy, you will
know it when you not have it
should do it in MARSOC, would be great

I will also make a full report later on but before that is
done by here already: THANKS ALL who participated and all who
were part of the organisation. Big thanks!.
It was awesoem to see so many units busy on the map shooting
each other to bits. with more then 30 players only on the
bluefor side it was awesome to see the map on the first
mission and see all that markers starting to move to position.
I had a VERY sudden call to replace PL but i think we took
that over allso quite decently. After that i mainly saw the
map and a few TS conversation Freefire thanks for
outstandingly taking over the Alpha squad on my sudden
promotion
Second mission was great to feel the incoming danger of the
BLUEFOR to our poor farmer guns. Its by far not as easy to
defend but in a way we were successful at it. Althought the
BLUEFOR sniper must have had a an awesome evening as he was
target practise shooting a lot of us down from the Villa.
AGAIN, AWESOME TO SEE SO MANY OF US ENJOY THE GAME. Next time:
BIGGER, MORE AND MORE

Gentlemen. I would like to echo the comments of others when I
give out a big thank you to all who participated and to the
professionalism and skill shown by MARSOC last night.
It was an OUTSTANDING success and a great way to round out a
great year of ARMA gaming.
I would also like to personally thank bigboss, almanzo and
Crow who proved themselves outstanding FT members and very
skilled players.
Our training shows and as someone who was sceptical of it at
first I am not the biggest fan of it.
WE JUST NEED MORE! We could use a lot more CQB and FT movement
training/practice.
Thanks gents. It was awesome
*salute"

It was nice session.
My few words about it.
1. mission - as BLUFOR.
Nothing much to say here... Alpha successfully infiltrated in
the townform Wesr, while Bravo took all the heat at East, so,
when we reached the target area, we got to deal with remaining
forces in the town. which wasnt hard
2. mission - as Indipendent...
This for sure went fubar
Enemy made first push through West, as it seemed from my
position. Again, another team took all the heat there
Then enemy sniper started to pick Bravo guys one at a time,
adn it seemed that we had nothing against him, because he
worked really openly ( what our snipers did?)...
After five or so minutes (after action started at West) Bravo
2 was attacked from East... Anyway, it wasnt clear, because
info didnt come to us really clear. After some time we just
knew form text messages that Bravo 2 was gone. So we changed
our location, hoping that we can ambush the enemy on their way
in the town. After taking postion against the enemy, we
started to move against him, and right at the moment when
FreeFire crossed the street, he got shot by light MG burst. I
think Steely panicked a bit there, because he also got on the
street after what he got shot by the same light MG burst....
That didnt encourage me and XRAY for movement against
enemy.... So we backed one house away and started to cover
each corner. After that XRAY managed to take one enemy down on
the street side. We didnt change the position straight away,
which now I think was a mistake, because XRAY after minute or
so got shot on the street, leaving me alone with my thought
and... yeah, with my rifle I retreated one house back form
position, and it took only couple of seconds there for sniper
to take me down with one shot....

Looking forward for games like these.
Also I would like to have coop in such numbers...
EDIT BY Steelrain: please downscale pictures before posting.
P.S. - Yeah, we really have to put here some auto thubnail
feature for pictures or something...

As someone who has played very large co ops with these kinds
of numbers I can say that they aren't as good as you might
imagine.
Apart from the fact that you can't add a lot of AI due to
server load, you spend a lot of time waiting around and it
nearly isn't as much fun and team vs team.
But but all means we can try it....just don't set your heart
on it being as good as MARSOC sessions just with higher
numbers.
As you saw this weekend, scaling up the number of players in a
session brings about a whole new set of challenges in
organising 60 people.

Well, organising 3 communities, who weren't even in direct
contact over TS, i think the organising went pretty smooth,
should we ever join up on 1 side, we need a general setup and
comms system.
